Supply Chain PROJECTMANAGEMENT
A change in both the process and behaviour produces the best results.
If you decide that one of your staff members should manage a project alongside his/her current job, the project will often not be given the attention needed for successful introduction. Your em-ployees receive inadequate coaching, schedule deadlines are missed and budgets are exceeded. You risk the same consequences if there is a lack of knowledge, or if a good action plan isn't pro-duced. By taking on an external project manager, you can be confident that there will be a 100% focus on implementation.
The advantages of an external project manager
As an external project manager, I will manage your process optimisation project through to suc-cessful completion. Successful means: on time, on budget, without disrupting everyday operations and without causing your customers any inconvenience.
Full or partial outsourcing of tasks
You can outsource the project management, that often stems from supply chain advice, in full or in part to me. In terms of project organisation, preparation, implementation and comple-tion, I can take on the following tasks on your behalf:
- manage the multidisciplinary project team; ;
- prepare the implementation plan and schedule;
- identify, reduce or mitigate risks;
- evaluate the impact on other processes;
- manage the costs and avoid costs associated with failure;
- monitor project progress and, if necessary, adjust the project;
- define and adjust performance indicator processes;
- formulate a monitoring plan for managers.
Hand-in-hand with change management
The attitude and behaviour of your staff will determine the success of the process change. The effects of change programmes can often be disappointing. All too often, organisations tend to only think about what is right for the organisation and then communicate that to employees, whereas more attention should be paid to the interests of the employees themselves. Do you give your staff too little guidance? Do you fail to tell your staff how they will benefit from the changes? Do you make your staff feel that you believe in them? Do you give your staff the chance to develop? If not, they will continue to do what they have always done and they will make the same mistakes they make now. Through early introduction of change management, there will be a significant in-crease in the chance of success.
